I’ve been sharing interesting tidbits about Monroe NY for the last few weeks, and I still have much to share, but today I happened to have reason to go to the Palisades Center in West Nyack NY. My visit made me think that sharing some of the major sites of interest around the Monroe area might be a great idea as well.
So the Palisades Center in West Nyack NY — what it is? It’s an entertainment and shopping destination for people in the Westchester and Rockland counties, as well as those from New Jersey and Orange counties.
The Center is located at 1000 Palisades Center Drive and the stores are open Monday through Saturday from 10am – 9:30pm, and on Sundays from 11am to 7pm. That being said, access to the mall is provided until early in the morning to allow for visitors who wish to see a movie at the AMC Loews Stadium 21 theater or the IMAX Theater, or for bowlers who wish to bowl at Lucky Strike Lanes or those who wish to play (or eat) at Dave and Busters.
In addition to the entertainment already mentioned, there is an ice skating rink.
The Palisades Center also has shopping, including anchor stores such as Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, JC Penney, Target and Burlington Coat Factory, and there are many fashion, book, accessory, and specialty stores.
In addition, the Center includes many restaurants such as the Cheesecake Factory, Outback Steakhouse, Chilis, Tony Roma’s, TGIF’s as well as a full food court.
So what was I doing there today? I actually went to Barnes & Noble for a book signing by an author I happen to know. His name is Owen Palmiotti and if you have tweens or teens who like pirates, treasure, curses, time travel, and revenge, you should check out the book! It’s called Benjamin Manry and the Crimson Journal.
This is Owen in one of his less than serious moments!
