There is still about a foot of snow left on most portions of our yard. Tonight the temperatures are expected to be back down in the teens and tomorrow night in the single digits. The calendar says it is still winter. It’s 7am in the morning right now and the sun hasn’t risen. But……
SPRING IS HERE!
In the last three days, I took three different and new buyer clients out to look at homes, and I started helping another new client yesterday. Several clients who were interested in late 2013 but hibernated for the winter have come back as well. In the Monroe, NY area, Spring has arrived in the real estate market. Buyers are deciding they have had enough of the winter, and they have come outside and are seriously looking. So what does this mean for buyers and sellers?
Buyers: Competition is heating up for available inventory. Be prepared to make an offer when you find the right home for you. Don’t dilly-dally! Have your pre-approval all set before you go out to see homes. Know what you want. Know what you need. And when you see the right home, write the offer. If you don’t, the home you love may go to someone else who was ready and pounced!
Sellers: If you’ve been thinking of selling your home but wanted to wait for Spring, it’s time! Buyers are out looking for the right home, and it could be yours. Now is a great time to clean and declutter your home, fix those minor things you’ve been putting off, and call your real estate agent to get your home on the market.
If you are buying or selling in the Monroe NY (or Orange County) area, The House Kat is ready to assist. Just give me a call on 914-419-0270 to get started!
