November 2020 Consumer Newsletter for Seniors
As an SRES® REALTOR®, I have access to monthly National Association of REALTORS® newsletters aimed at the senior citizen community (50+). The November 2020 Consumer Newsletter, attached below, focuses on master bathroom renovations. The newsletter also addresses things to do with old military letters you might find when cleaning out a relative’s home, and some inside-the-home winterizing tasks.
Other interesting tidbits for the month:
This following article in McKnight’s Senior Living publication provides an overview of an MIT AgeLab study which suggests that seniors living in senior communities are positive about their pandemic experience. While I can’t argue with an MIT study per se, based on anecdotal information I don’t think this is necessarily true. In my opinion, people who have been dealing with the pandemic while in a senior home are more likely to be lonely, feeling forgotten, and getting very limited social stimulation. I do hope, however, that my view is not accurate, and MIT’s is… Here’s the link to the article.
The Global Wellness Summit talked about the fact that seniors are aging better today than they have in past generations, and some companies are paying attention by making products specifically geared towards the 60+ crowd. Check out some of the changes mentioned here.
