Thanksgiving is for Gratitude
This year, I participated in a challenge on ActiveRain which is a real estate related networking and information site. The challenge was to write a post for ten days in a row about something we were grateful for. And for what it’s worth, here are my posts.
The Wind – My first entry celebrated my love of the wind. Many people who live where I do, in Kalispell Montana, don’t like the wind. It’s a scary thing when it’s late summer and it’s dry and fire is a risk. Wind is not a friend of fire. Others don’t like it because in the winter it can make a relatively mild winter day extremely dangerous. The wind whips around and freezes your skin. So why am I thankful for wind? Because it is magic.
The Views – I am blessed to live in Northwest Montana. It provides me access to some of the most amazing views in this country (at least to my biased mind). So this “thank you” was for the amazing views. And I shared a few.
Wildlife – This post focused on wildlife. I am so thankful that I live in a place where wildlife is so bountiful! Why? Because wildlife is beautiful, free, wild and interesting.
Gardening – I am new to the wonderful world of gardening. But after two years of somewhat successfully planting my own vegetables, I am an enthusiastic convert.
Food – I do love food (who doesn’t?) and am grateful I have access to choices and cookbooks!
Warm Feet – It’s the little things in life that make the biggest difference! I’ve always had freezing feet, with toes that turn white and numb. But…. I have found some solutions that help.
Wine – Need I say more? A nice glass of cabernet, and I’m all set.
Music – Music is always on in my house, my car, my head. It’s been like that forever, and I hope it stays that way!
Family – My definition of family has expanded to include more than just blood or marriage relatives. You know when you connect with someone. I am grateful of all those I consider family.
You – If you’re reading these words, I’m grateful for you. You took the time to click on a link and to read what I have to say. For that, thank you.
For what it’s worth, I could have found more things to be thankful for. I do believe that if we specifically look for things we can be thankful for, we’ll find them everywhere. And does that mean our lives are nice and comfortable and happy every day? Nope. But it does mean what IS working is something worth gratitude.
Enjoy your day and thank you!
