August 2020 Consumer Newsletter for Seniors

As an SRES® REALTOR®, I have access to monthly National Association of REALTORS® newsletters aimed at the senior citizen community. In the August 2020 edition, the publication focuses on protocols for nursing home visits. Unfortunately the current pandemic has necessitated elimination or restriction of family visits at senior centers. The newsletter includes a state-by-state list of the current guidelines surrounding in-person visits.

The August newsletter also covers the pandemic’s impact on the real estate market, specifically as it relates to the urban, suburban and rural areas. As with all market reviews that are at a national level, it is important to keep in mind that your specific market may be different. In my rural area, for example, the market hasn’t slowed down. Both sales and prices have been increasing. But the newsletter does give an overview of the general trends.
