1Q14 Orange County/Hudson Valley Real Estate Market Results

This report covers the real estate market in the Orange County NY area, as well as Westchester and Rockland counties.

Overall sales volume was up; the region closed 2,000 sales in the first quarter of 2014, which is the highest first quarter total since 2007.  Year over year sales increases have increased for the last eight quarters; the longest similar streak in 15 years.

In terms of sales prices, while there are improvements in much of the area, the Orange County area sales prices have seen a slight decline since the same time period last year.  In the Monroe NY area specifically, sales volume increased 25% from first quarter 2013 to 2014, while sales prices decreased 15% during the same time period.
